Cookie Policy

Effective date: April 29, 2026, Last updated: April 29, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Dorunaitsu LLC ("ShieldNode", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on shieldnode.app.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They serve various purposes, from keeping you logged in to remembering your preferences. Similar technologies include localStorage (browser storage that persists after a session ends) and sessionStorage (storage that is cleared when the tab is closed).

2. Cookies We Use

ShieldNode uses strictly necessary cookies for authentication and a small set of product-analytics cookies from PostHog so we can attribute events to the correct user. We do not use advertising cookies, fingerprinting, or third-party tracking beyond product analytics.

ph_* (PostHog)Attributes product-analytics events to your session for product improvementProduct analytics1 year

3. Authentication Cookies (Supabase)

ShieldNode uses Supabase for authentication. When you sign in, Supabase sets one or more cookies prefixed with sb- to maintain your session. These cookies:

  • Are strictly necessary for the service to function, without them, you cannot stay logged in.
  • Contain a session token (not your password or personal data).
  • Are set with HttpOnly and Secure flags, meaning they cannot be accessed by JavaScript and are only sent over HTTPS.
  • Expire automatically after your session ends or when you sign out.

These cookies are set by Supabase's infrastructure. For more information, see Supabase's Privacy Policy.

4. What We Do Not Use

ShieldNode does not use:

  • Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, or any advertising or retargeting technology.
  • Session replay or screen-recording tools (PostHog session recording is explicitly disabled).
  • Fingerprinting or cross-site tracking techniques.
  • Advertising cookies of any kind.

PostHog is the only third-party analytics tool we use. It captures a small set of product events tied to your account user ID for the sole purpose of improving the product. We do not resell or share this data with advertisers.

5. Your Choices

Because we use only strictly necessary cookies, the service cannot function without them. You may:

  • Block or delete cookies using your browser settings, note that blocking the Supabase session cookie will prevent you from staying logged in.
  • Sign out at any time to clear your session cookie.

Browser-specific instructions for managing cookies:

6. GDPR and Consent

Under the GDPR, strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent as they are essential for delivering a service explicitly requested by the user. The Supabase authentication cookie falls under this category, it is required to keep you logged in after you choose to sign in.

The theme preference cookie is a functional cookie that stores your display preference. It does not track you or collect personal data.

The PostHog product-analytics cookies are used to attribute events to your authenticated user ID. We rely on legitimate interest (product improvement) as the legal basis, do not share the data with advertisers, and you can request export or deletion at any time via contact@shieldnode.app. Because we operate primarily out of the United States and do not target the EU, we do not display a cookie consent banner.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as the service evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. If we add cookies that require consent, we will notify you appropriately before those cookies are set.
