Account
Delete your account
You can permanently delete your ShieldNode account and all associated data at any time. This page explains how — both from inside the app and as a written request if you no longer have access.
Method 1 — sign in and delete (fastest)
Sign in to your account, open Settings, and tap or click Delete account. Confirm by typing your email. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
Available in both the web dashboard and the mobile apps.
Method 2 — email request (if you can't sign in)
If you've lost access to your email or your authentication provider, send an email to contact@shieldnode.app from any address you can prove ownership of, and include:
- The email address associated with your account
- Approximate creation date if you remember it
- Any other detail that helps us verify identity (e.g. last service name)
We respond within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days of verification.
What gets deleted
- ×Your account email and authentication record
- ×Your encrypted upstream API credentials (services)
- ×All virtual keys you created (their hashes are removed)
- ×All request log metadata associated with your account
- ×Alerts and any waitlist entries tied to your email
- ×Your Stripe customer record and any active subscription is cancelled
- ×Your RevenueCat customer record (if you used the mobile app)
What we retain (and why)
Some information may be kept after account deletion only when legally required:
- ·Aggregated, anonymous metrics (request counts, error rates) that contain no identifier tied to you
- ·Payment records that we are required to retain by tax law in our jurisdiction (typically 7 years), with personal identifiers redacted where possible
This action is irreversible.
Once your account is deleted, virtual keys you have generated stop working immediately. Anyone holding those keys (teammates, clients, AI agents) loses access to the proxied APIs. Your encrypted upstream credentials are erased and cannot be recovered. Any active subscription is cancelled — no automatic refund is issued for the current billing period.
